The Banks to Construct First Above-ground Structure
WHAT
The Banks moves forward with the first concrete pour of the Freedom Way East garage. Anticipation on the site has been building as this marks the first above-ground structure of the development.
Many of the underground preparations have led to this pour of the developmentās first elevated slab. The slab will serve as an intermediate parking deck below Freedom Way, the road that will link all phases of the riverfront development together.
The Banks Project is the first of its kind in Cincinnati and will benefit the entire region. In addition to creating a destination where people can live, work, and play, the Banks will be a catalyst for regional economic growth. It will drive an estimated $600 million in private investment to our riverfront, provide a place to live for more than 3,000 residents and create hundreds of jobs during construction alone.
PHOTO OP
Construction crews will pour 28 truck loads of concrete flowing at 60 yards per hour to form the first above-ground structure of The Banks. The concrete pours will continue throughout the day if weather permits.
